PenguinIN Announces Compatibility of its Positioning Solution with Kontakt BLE Devices

September 2017
PenguinIN announced successful interoperability testing of it’s Indoor Wayfinding Solution with BLE beacons and tags from Kontakt. The interoperability testing is performed both at PenguinIN R & D labs and in field PoC deployments under real use cases. With the success of this interoperability testing, PenguinIN adds Kontakt’s BLE beacons and tags to the list of BLE suppliers supported by PenguinIN.

PenguinIN R & D labs continuously assess new and upcoming hardware to ensure that it recommends the best-fit technology to its clients particularly since the PenguinIN solution is offered as a managed service.

PenguinIN Awarded the Integration of the Indoor Wayfinding Solution at Ferrari World

June 2017
In a major achievement, PenguinIN has been awarded the indoor positioning and wayfinding system for the largest indoor theme park in the world: Ferrari World. After several demos, large scale PoCs, and qualifying stages the park administration realized that PegnuinIN provides the best solution in the market today.

Dr. Smadi, the head of the regional R & D center, commented on this achievement by stating that “we are proud and challenged by this award. The dynamic environment inside the Ferrari World theme park caused by the many moving metallic rides, creates a challenging problem from an RF modeling perspective that is very unique and different from other more typical environments”

Dr. Smadi added that “the multi-technology opportunistic approach followed by PenguinIN yields a reliable and accurate position which can still be maintained for every smart handheld holder inside the theme park”.

With recent announcements of new theme parks in the region, PenguinIN is perfectly positioned with its solution to satisfy the market with rigorously tested solution.

PenguinIN establishes an R & D center in Amman – Jordan

April 2016
In continuation of its efforts to optimize the R & D cost, PenguinIN established an R & D center in Amman – Jordan where it can have access to very talented resources and distinguished researchers at various academic institutes.

The new R & D center will be collaborating closely with other academic research centers working on data mining, machine learning and IoT. The new R & D center will be led by Dr. M. Smadi, an ex-Blackberry lead scientist with +25 patents and outstanding R & D experience in wireless systems modeling and integration into mobile devices.

PenguinIN Announces the introduction of a managed indoor IoT platform that delivers cost-effective and accurate tracking of people and assets

June 2015
In a major achievement of its R & D and product development efforts, and a major step toward facilitating effective Enterprise Digital Transformation, PenguinIN announces the successful release of a unified Indoor Location-Based IoT platform for the tracking of assets and people and digitization of processes inside mega Enterprises’ venues. This is the culmination of long and hard work that can be leveraged now by clients in many sectors including education and healthcare.

PenguinIN plans to offer its Indoor IoT platform on annual subscription basis with fully-managed hardware and cloud-based software platforms. This has the advantage of being zero-capex and zero IT department overhead where the performance and availability is guaranteed by the PenguinIN team instead of expecting an already thinly stretched IT department to oversee the continued operation of the platform.

While being fully customizable, the PenguinIN’s IoT platform enables five modules, namely: individuals’ attendance, individuals’ tracking, assets tracking, business rules, analytics and wayfinding.

PenguinIN showcases its managed indoor wayfinding solution at the Future Cities Summit in Dubai

March 2014
Future Cities Summit is the Middle East’s premier smart cities event during which municipalities and mega-developers in UAE and other GCC countries have voiced the drive for smart cities and smart buildings as a key differentiating feature of the future.

PenguinIN promoted its proposition at the summit “a building cannot be smart without having the ability to identify the locations of its visitors and tenants”. This resonated really well with many of the attendees who agreed wholeheartedly that indoor positioning and the use cases built on top of it will be a primary expectation of the smart buildings. Whether it is to identify the asset, improve security or optimize operations, indoor positioning is key.

PenguinIN completes first field PoC deployment of its multi-technology opportunistic positioning engine

Tuesday, 17 December 2013

PenguinIN announced today the successful testing of its first large-scale indoor navigation technology in the region. The technology has been deployed in a large mall in the UAE to allow unencumbered access to anyone wanting to see the technology and the solution.

Unlike many indoor technology demos, the solution covered a large, multi-floor area and was shown working over several handheld devices showcasing the accuracy, UI features, location-based notifications, business rules, and analytics. PenguinIN has consistently achieved indoor positioning accuracy of 2.3 meters on average with an average location refresh rate of 3.1 seconds, and the floor transition detection accuracy of 100%.

With such features, the monetization and the RoI discussions are evolving quickly.  Malls’ management and operators are excited about digitizing their physical space and the potential that brings to them, their tenants and visitors. PenguinIN is helping them realize this potential.
